About
FLAVA is a Group Exhibition by 14 Contemporary Artists whose works explore personal vision, emotion, and contemporary life through diverse media. From surrealism to minimalism, FLAVA blends styles and stories, offering an immersive glimpse into the creativity that reflects today’s world and human consciousness.
The title of the exhibition derives from 'flava' - a term that denotes the personality and flair, the je ne sais quoi - that makes each artist unique in their artistic expression.
FLAVA the exhibition, showcases an exciting array of art and art practice by a group of 14 contemporary artists, established as well as emerging talent - each with a unique expression of how they see the world, and their world - the colours, ideas, concerns, joys, aesthetics, stories - that meld artists' imagination with the everyday experience of life in the 21st century. In painting, sculpture and drawing, we enter the artists' collective world - that offer the viewer an experience of a range of genres / styles (abstraction, figurative, minimalist, landscape, portraiture) - and themes - such as, the surreal, the natural world, magical realism, existentialism, saudade (nostalgia), decay, dystopia, authenticity, familiarity, multi faceted identities, modern lifestyles - a contemporary artistic escapade that is fantastical, yet at the same time rooted in the reality of today!
